Sense Young Deafblind Person of the Year

I am pleased to announce that Sense (Deafblind Charity) have shortlisted me for the award of Young Deafblind Person of the Year for my achievements in Judo!

The awards ceremony is in October so everyone please cross your fingers and toes for me!

I'll let you all know how I get on!!

  2. Hi Jack! I am also profoundly deaf and it's great to see you trying hard to get your goals. I am curious about one matter: are you allowed to wear hearing aids at mainstream competitions? I have heard from others that Judokas can't wear them at Deaflympics. I took some classes in Taekwondo but have not yet taken part in tournament. It's not really a issue since we usually wear helmets. Just wonder about Judo though.

  3. Hi Cindy, sorry for the delay in replying to you! I did reply the same day you commented but it appears that the reply disappeared into space somewhere!

    I don't wear hearing aids when I compete, although I do whilst training. It would be great if I could whilst competing but am not allowed :(

    I hope you keep going with the taekwondo!
